Join the gold rush for a modern bathroom with our Bert & May Marigold Maze Three Tile Collection (£180 per sq m). It’s a great way to add a contemporary twist to classic taps, lighting and bathroom vanity units
Modern bathroom design is proving popular as 'The Most Wonderful Time of the Year' fast approaches, for family-run, independent online tiles specialist Hyperion Tiles. With soaring sales in their contemporary tiles and flooring, it seems homeowners are keen to complete bathroom updates in this style in time for the festive season.
Our director Richard Skeoch says: "A bathroom makeover doesn't have to involve a full redecoration. You can refresh a space using wall tiles, floor tiles, mirrors, lighting, storage and accessories. So, there are plenty of ways to upgrade this space without breaking the bank. Small changes can make such a big difference."
Whether you’re a fan of statement style or understated elegance, here are Richard’s recommendations:
* If you’re not replacing your sanitaryware, focus on your walls and floors. And consider your materials carefully – there are lots of alternatives to traditional tile options
* Luxury vinyl tiles and planks are perfect for bathroom flooring, as they look and feel warm and cosy, especially in comparison with stone or ceramic alternatives
* Think carefully about colour, especially if your space is small. Introducing a light, bright palette will instantly make a small bathroom or cloakroom look bigger
* Embrace the beauty of beige. A neutral design scheme is contemporary, but offers plenty of longevity. It works well with on-trend metallics too
* Want some ‘wow factor’? Use wall tiles to create a striking design feature
