WATERS BATHS OF ASHBOURNE’S APPROACH TO POSITIVITY THROUGH PASSIVITY

“Many cultures swear by the benefits of a hot bath, but only recently has science begun to understand how passive heating [as opposed to working up a sweat in the gym] improves health.”
Dr Steve Faulkner, Loughborough University

As a keen advocate of slow-bathing – channeling positivity through passivity - Waters Baths of Ashbourne’s recent social media campaign invites bathers to turn their bath at home into a home-spa experience with added perks.

In a study conducted by Loughborough University that pitted passive heating against more traditional forms of exercise to gently lower blood pressure and blood sugar levels and increase body temperature, a more passive approach proved beneficial: An hour long soak in a warm bath burning on average 130 calories; the equivalent of doing 40 sit-ups or walking for half an hour.

Eager to find a way to unite science with their sensibility, Waters Baths of Ashbourne teamed the know-how of Dr Barbara Kubicka of The Bath Project with the can-do of DIY/Home Influencer Jessica Grizzle, to create a simple Home-Spa recipe harnessing the health and holistic advantages that taking a bath can have on mind, body and spirit; transforming routine into a well-being ritual.
