The importance of interior colors for the psyche: pink and violet

This winter is also a small challenge: gray is the predominant color of nature, and the days are short.
Anna von der Heiden thinks it is high time to do something to counteract this and to deal with the effect of interior colors.
The founder of the design manufactory AN-NA Design is a designer, artist and art therapist.
She has learned to use the effect of colors on the human psyche in a targeted manner. And Anna von der Heiden lives color. She sees her special talent in the combination of colors and patterns. "Strong colors have always been my thing," she says.

Lavender will be the trend color in 2023

The international trend research company WGSN has predicted a lavender tone as the trend color for 2023.
Anna von der Heiden takes this as an opportunity to outline the effect of the two color families around violet and pink.

The effect of Violet/Crimson/Purple

Purple is the color of art and inspiration. It promotes self-confidence and concentration. Violet should be used in doses in the form of colored highlights in a room. A use is possible for living rooms, also for children's rooms. The same applies to pink.

Magenta/Pink

This color family represents idealism and joy. Magenta can have a positive effect on emotional shocks. The color conveys inner security.

 Test colors dosed

The targeted use of colors requires a great deal of sensitivity. The solution here is: first set accents with colorful home accessories.

The effect of a color depends on its intensity

The following applies to all colors: the effect depends on the dosage and the personality of the residents. What is positive for one person in high doses can quickly be too much for another person. For this reason, too, it makes sense to first test the effect using smaller colored areas.

Cushions as colored highlights

Placing small colored highlights in a room brings an immediate result. And it's a lot cheaper than painting a room entirely. Colored home accessories such as cushions or wall designs are very suitable.
