Magdeburg, 11th February 2022. The Feuerhand Baby Special 276 Hurricane Lantern in Violet Blue – based on Very Peri, the colour of the year 2022 – is bold and open to the new challenges of our world. The blend of blue tones with a reddish violet undertone is unique. Very Peri is the first colour of the year not to be derived from the Pantone Institute’s existing colour palette. It was specially developed to break away from old roles in times of change. As a result, the Baby Special 276 is now also available in this shade of violet and sends a message. The playful freshness creates cheerful colour accents which can be combined with a whole host of materials and textures, reinventing home in the open air.

A shining symbol for 2022
Light from the Baby Special 276 Hurricane Lantern radiates optimism in stormy times – just like the new Very Peri shade which is more dynamic and captivating than the Pantone colours of previous years. The lantern in Violet Blue exudes carefree self-confidence with a strong presence. The calm paraffin flame inside the Hurricane Lantern brings a reliable, long-lasting light to the terrace or balcony. This scintillating shade of violet blue creates a contrast between traditional colours. It goes particularly well with a Boho style that represents the present time like no other: unconventional, imperfect and always keen to experiment. Violet Blue also makes a lively colour statement when combined with an Ethno or Modern style.

Durability amidst the storm of change

In terms of colour, the traditional lantern follows the zeitgeist from time to time. In terms of quality, however, nothing has changed in over 125 years. The Baby Special 276 continues to be made in Germany from powder-coated, galvanised sheet steel using stamping and folding techniques. Heat-resistant glass protects the flame from any weather. The adjustable wick regulates the size of the flame. It burns reliably for up to 20 hours on a single tank filling.

The colour Violet Blue is a modern interpretation of lavender and sage and harmonises superbly with the timeless Romantic style that gives us a sense of comfort in the open air.
